• Inspects and monitors 50 Sewage Treatment Plants
• Inspects and monitors 17 Industrial Waste Dischargers
• Issues permits for on-lot sewage systems
• Investigates water pollution incidents
• Conducts bacteriological analysis of Presque Isle Beaches
• Identifies tick species and provides the public with information on Lyme Disease
• Inspects 79 public school buildings
• Inspects 153 public swimming pools
• Inspects 34 organized camps and campgrounds
• Inspects 93 manufactured home parks
• Conducts mosquito surveillance, collects mosquitoes, and provides mosquito control, when necessary, to control West Nile Virus
• Regulates tattoo and body piercing establishments
