Healthy Communities

What We Do

The Healthy Communities Program is part of the Health Education Division at the Erie County Department of Health (ECDH), and is funded through a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The purpose of this program is to promote cardiovascular health, diabetes, nutrition, obesity prevention and physical activity in the community.  We partner with communities, schools and worksites. Particular emphasis is on policy, systems and environmental changes that promote and enhance physically active lifestyles, as well as healthy eating behaviors for everyone.
