The role of the Erie County Department of Health in the area of HIV/AIDS is to:

• Encourage universal screening for HIV infection to elicit early detection.
• Provide HIV antibody testing through clinical services and outreach.
• Educate clients who receive testing about HIV transmission and risk reduction.
• Provide HIV positive persons with partner services; referrals to medical care and case management.
• Primary Care Physician service is not available at Erie County Department of Health.
