Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) rank among the highest incidences of all the reportable diseases.  The role of the Erie County Department of Health in the area of STDs is to:

• Provide compassionate, confidential, and free clinical services to the public for the testing and treatment of Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.
• Provide or assist with notification of partners who need testing and treatment.
• Network services and education with other area providers, such as colleges and gynecologists.
• Provide phone and clinic-based education to promote sexual health and reduce risk of infection.
• Provide referrals to other agencies for pregnancy testing, certain STDs not treated at the Erie County Department of Health, PAP smears, or general physical exams.
