Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) rank among the highest incidences of all the reportable diseases. The role of the Erie County Department of Health in the area of STDs is to:

Provide compassionate, confidential, and free clinical services to the public for the testing and treatment of Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.

Provide or assist with notification of partners who need testing and treatment.

Network services and education with other area providers, such as colleges and gynecologists.

Provide phone and clinic-based education to promote sexual health and reduce risk of infection.

Provide referrals to other agencies for pregnancy testing, certain STDs not treated at the Erie County Department of Health, PAP smears, or general physical exams.
